Gloria Jean Speed was the eighth of ten children born to the late Bertha and Dennis Speed in Cocoa Florida on November 17, 1958.
While in Florida, Gloria attended Pointsett Middle School located in Rockledge, Florida. In 1970, Gloria moved to Rochester, New York joining her sisters and brothers who eagerly awaited her.
Gloria embraced her new found independence, determined to build a family and life for herself in Rochester. She proved successful at both. Gloria enjoyed music, crafts, puzzles, decorating and had an incredible sense of style. Her often colorful, yet playful personality guaranteed that anyone who met her, never forgot her. More than anything, she loved her children, her family and music .
Gloria Jean Speed, made her transition on August 8, 2016 forever free from this world and is now resting. Gloria is pre-deceased by: her parents Bertha and Dennis Speed, Geraldine Bullock (William), Willie Arthur Foster (Dora), Samuel Speed (Karen) and Dennis Speed Jr. Gloria is survived by her son Victor Clayton Speed, two daughters, Chawanda Evette Speed and Vegas Mae Brady, siblings Diana Tatum (Thomas), Danny Ray Speed (Ruby), Glenda Carter, Susan Rayam, and Roosevelt Speed, 11 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, friends and a special friend-- Greg Brady.
Her boisterous personality, phrases and laughter will be missed by all who knew her.
