Obituary for Allie Ashford

Allie M. Ashford was born on March 25, 1931 in Thomasville,Ga to the late, Jacob Jackson and Idella Jackson -Ross, Frank (Mohawk ) Jackson (brother).Allie attended school in Thomasville Ga after graduating, she started working different Jobs there. Allie, joined in Matrimony with Deacon Maureen Ashford for 54 years. then moved to New York, NY to work for United States Postal Service as a Mail clerk and later transferred to Rochester NY at the main Post Office on Cumberland St and later transferred to Jefferson Rd where she met her special Friend (Sister) Betty Pinson, she worked 37 years in total, she retired on December 28,2001.

Allie loved the Lord and she let her Light shine in everything she did, she wore many hats in the church.Ms.Betty Crocker was her nickname because she baked the best Pound Cake in town you can count on her cake at her bake sale every first Sunday, Cook dinners for the sick and shut in.She Loved to travel to visit family, she was in a Bowling league with her coworkers at the USPS, gardening but, most of all she attended to her family, Nieces and Nephews taught us all at a young age to keep the Lord first and family to love everyone.

Allie passed away on November 10, 2023, peacefully at home surrounded by her family. She leaves to cherish her memories special nephew (son) Alonzo (Lisa) Jackson , Brenda (George) Walton, Gwendolyn Washington all of Rochester NY, Jacob (Kay) Washington of Chambersburg Pa, Betty j Washington of New Mexico, Teresa Price of Albany New York, Anthony (Rosalind )Smith of Kentucky, special Cousin Kathy (Pastor T. Hansberry) from Jacksonville Florida and many more family and friends. She's Pre deceased by Derromar Washington, Edgar a Washington ,Curtis Washington Sr. special thanks to UR MEDICINE and HOSPICE NURSING SERVICE Provided. May she rest in peace come on to me all ye that labor's and I will give you rest.
