Obituary for John Lee Graham

John Lee Graham was born December 21, 1953, in Bloomingvale, South Carolina to Beatrice Jackson Graham and Elijah Graham. In 1958, the family moved to Rochester, New York where John attended Schools Number 3, 2, and graduated from James Madison High School.

He joined the Unites States Marine Corps, and served his country from June 28, 1974, until June 28, 1981. He continued his education through Monroe Community College to become a Fire Investigator. Upon successful completion of the program, he was employed at Gleason Works for a period of 10 years and also worked for the City of Rochester Parks Department.

John was married to Rosalind Graham for four years; no children were born to this union. If you knew John, you know he was a quiet man who minded is own business. If you asked John a question, he would give you a direct “Yes” or “No” answer. John transitioned his earthly life March 4, 2023, predeceased by his parents, Beatrice Jackson Graham and Elijah Graham; his brothers: Wesley Graham (January 2000), Sam
Graham (October 2022), and his adopted brother, James “Sonny” Preston (July 2009); his nephew, Tajmin “Taj” Thompson (July 1998) and his niece, Jazmin “Jazzy” Graham (February 2020).

John leaves to cherish his memory: his sisters: Janie Beale and Betty (Buck) Williams of Rochester, New York, and Bernetha Thompson of Andrews, South Carolina; nephews, Darryl Graham of Las Vegas, Nevada and Robert Ford Sr. of Rochester, New York; nieces: Eleanor Green, Karen (William) These, Shanita Ford, Enda Critten and Ebony Washington, along with a host of great-nephews and great-nieces, all of Rochester, New York; uncles: Charles Jackson and Wendell Jackson of Andrews, South Carolina, Calvin Jackson and Keith Jackson of Rochester, New York; aunts: Ophelia Jackson and Florine Terry of Rochester, New York, Joan McMillion, Alafie Grayson, Ceile Graham, Brenda (John) Myzick of Andrews, South Carolina, and
Norbelene (Bishop Ronald) Ferguson of Bronx, New York. He also leaves a host of friends including his beloved friend of 29 years, Ms. Dottie Wright and her daughter, Chaundra Graham
