With Love
We honor our mother, grandmother, sister and friend
Patti Ann Ravenell Lamar entered into this life on December 2, 1940 in Walterboro, South Carolina to the loving care of the late Hollen and Nancy and Ravenell. She peacefully transitioned into the presence of God on August 11, 2022.
She started her education in Colleton County in Walterboro, South Carolina and graduated with the class of 1958 at Dillard High in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Patti was united in matrimony to James ‘Rock” Lamar in 1959 and to this union five children were born.
Patti was raised in a loving home and received Christ at an early age at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church in Fort Lauderdale, Florida under the leadership of the late Reverend Monroe; she later joined the New Mount Olive Baptist Church, under the leadership of Dr. Marcus Davidson.
Patti’s first job was with Sibley Department store for 2 years, 8 years with Bausch & Lomb, and 25 years with the Visiting Nurses Home in Rochester, New York. At the time of her transition, Patti was retired, enjoyed traveling to visit family and talking with her grandchildren every day.
Patti’s favorite pastime were cooking, talking on the phone with family and friends and watching television. Her passion and love were her grandkids! Patti was like the neighborhood mom and grandmother.
