Obituary for Deacon Climet Waller

Climet Waller, son of the late Early and Fannie Mae Waller, was born November 22, 1945 in
Okolona, Mississippi. He was one of nine children. He received his education in the public
school system and graduated from Fannie Carter High School in 1966.

Affectionately known as "Clem", he accepted Christ into his life at an early age and united with
the Chapel Grove Baptist Church in Okolona, Mississippi. After moving his residence to
Dunkirk, New York in 1968, Clem joined the Good Hope Baptist Church where he was an
active member for many years as a Trustee and Chair of numerous church fund-raising events.
He was also widely known throughout Chautauqua County for his ministry in song. As an
advocate for Gospel Music, Clem sang with various quartet groups for many years. He shared
his musical talent in such groups as The Urban Harmonizers and the Dunkirk Spiritual
Crusaders, of which he was an original member. He served faithfully until relocating to
Rochester, New York. In Rochester, he served as a Deacon at Free Deliverance Church of
God in Christ. Clem was an outstanding Christian man who served with "dignity" in any
Christian setting.

Clem was united in holy matrimony to Ms. Vera Lee Sneed in Dunkirk, New York on August 3,
1968. Their union was blessed with two children. Deacon Waller was a sincere man who truly
loved his family. Despite his sincerity, there was also a humorous side of him. He had the
ability to make people laugh, and at times, he would even tell jokes.

Clem's employment history includes many years with True Temper in Dunkirk, New York and
later as a lead maintenance worker at Wesley Gardens in Rochester, New York. He was also
an influential member of the N.A.A.C.P.

He will be remembered as a hard-working, sincere, honest, modest, and spiritual man who
loved the Word of God. Clem was called home on May 7, 2021. He is predeceased by: his
parents; his mother-in-law, Viola Sneed; father-in-law, Ozzie Sneed; one brother, George
Waller and four sisters: Maxine Marshall, Yvonne Sneed, Kathy Waller and Fannie Waller. Left
to cherish his memory is his loving family including: his beautiful wife, Vera Waller; two
children, Timothy Aaron Waller and Minister Tanya Lynette Waller, all of Rochester, NY; four
Godchildren: Olivia Shim, Michelle Sneed, Sheldon Sneed and Tasha Buchanan; three
brothers: Pastor Early (Betty Ruth) Waller, Leo Waller, all of Dunkirk, NY, and James Waller
of MS; one sister, Laura Grier of West Palm Beach, FL; one sister-in-law, Betty Moreland of
Dunkirk, NY, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
