Obituary for Darryl Phillips Sr.

Darryl Lee Phillips Sr. was born November 7, 1965 in Rochester, New York, where he lived with his mother, Margaret, and older brother, David. Darryl attended East High School, graduating in 1982. After
graduation, he attended SUNY Brockport as a history major. He worked as a housekeeper at Kirkhaven Nursing Home. He was a manager at Country Sweet and was also known for being the family handy man and mechanic.

He had a heart of gold and would help anyone who needed it. Whether it was a ride home from work at 3:00a.m., plowing your driveway, or a place to lay your head, you could always rely on him.

Darryl passed away on January 31, 2021 at Strong Memorial Hospital. He leaves to cherish his memory: two sons: Darryl Phillips Jr. and David Phillips; one daughter, Jacqueline Elliott; one
grandson, Darryl Phillips III; four granddaughters: Alyssa ElliottBonhon, Alanna Harris, Aliyah Harris and Alivia Harris; his mother, Margaret Davidson; father, Walter Whitfield; four brothers: David Phillips, Walter Whitfield Jr., Lawrence Whitfield, and Michael (Liz) Whitfield; four sisters: Carolyn Tibbs, Ann (Wallace) Salters,
Margaret Southhall and Judith Whitfield-Finley; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
