Julia M. Dow was born in Tuskegee AL and moved to Orlando FL where she graduated from Jones High School class of ‘59, Graduated from Jacksonville School of Business in 1961 where she received her Associates of Science in Business.
Moved to Rochester in the Fall of ‘62 met Frank Dow in 1963 and was married on her birthday April 10, 1965, at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church by Rev. Whitaker.
She worked at the Montgomery Center until she started working at Royal Globe Insurance Co for 20+ years. Later worked for Lawyers Co-op and HCR,
Loved to read, knit, do word puzzles and watch all CBS soaps especially the Young and the Restless.
Predeceased by her parents Catherine Gibson and William Taft Carr, brothers Nathaniel, John, McDaniel, and James Carr.
Survived by her loving husband of 54 years Frank Dow, her only child Kathryn Shereen Anderson(Darnell), stepchildren Belinda and Emmanuel Dow. Two granddaughters Jasmine Anderson and Jayda Anderson; nephews; nieces; cousins; host of step-grandchildren; step-great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
Calling hours at Metropolitan Funeral Chapels 109 West Ave., Thur Sept 26th, 2-4 PM and 6-9 PM. Funeral services at Mount Olivet Baptist Church 141 Adams St., Friday, Sept 27th at 12noon with an 11 AM viewing at the church. Rev, Ricky Harvey Sr, Pastor, officiating. Interment, Riverside Cemetery.
