Life Story for Juanita Brand

MRS. JUANITA G. BRAND was born April 17, 1934 in Leesburg, Florida to the union of Serry and Alberta Williams. Juanita received her education in Florida, graduating high school in Leesburg, Florida. She relocated to Rochester, New York in the early ‘60s.

Juanita was employed by St. John’s Home for a period of 20 years. In addition to working at St. John’s, she was an active member of the Eastern Star organization for 30 years. She was a dedicated member, serving as leader of the Youth Department. During her lifetime, Juanita received a substantial amount of recognition.
She was married to Howard Brand in 1975. She loved her family very much and always advocated for family unity.
Among Juanita’s favorite past times were: crocheting, gardening, listening to music, dancing, exercising and traveling.

Juanita had been a member of Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church for approximately 20 years. She served on the church’s Nurses Guild.

Juanita Brand passed to Glory on July 10, 2019, predeceased by: her parents, Serry and Alberta Williams; three brothers: Jaybird, Finess and Buddy; six sisters: Mattie, Madie, Mary Lou, Inez, Doll and Katherine and one great-grandson, Kwuan Divine. Juanita leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Howard Brand; six sons: Percy Jr. (Shirley) Robinson, Eugene, Gary, Gregory, Alexander, and Kenneth (Chanesse) Robinson; three daughters: Diane, Teare (Jerry) Hill, Zelda (William) Reed; twenty-nine grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends
