Obituary for James E. "Papa Jack" Jackson

JAMES EMMANUEL JACKSON was born February 27, 1937 in Bainbridge, Georgia, to the late Jonnie Elizabeth Jackson and James Emmanuel Jackson. He spent most of his early years in Bainbridge, where began a family.

He later relocated to Rochester, New York where he met and married Annie Jean Lippitt, who would later become Annie Jean Jackson. Better known as "Buddy" or "Papa Jack", James was well known as someone who would bring light to any room. He was charismatic and had a way with words that would tend to stick with you.
His two favorite past times were fishing and spending time outside in his garden. He truly had a green thumb. ln Rochester, James was employed at The Genesee Brewery for many years and later retired from Valeo. He was a faithful member of Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church until his passing,

James is predeceased by: his parents, James Emmanuel and Jonnie Elizabeth Jackson, and son, Darius L. Jackson. He departed this life March 4,2019. James leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Annie Jean Jackson; children, Gerald (Marie) Jones, Cassandra (Frankie) Floyd, Johnnie E. Tell, Alexandria (Raymond) G. Gaines, Arthur Lee (Ramona) Bryant, and Chestina (Tony) Moore; sisters, Emma Sue Henry and Dorothy Hutley; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; special friends: William Henry, Aaron Dumas and Artis Rambo, along with a host of other relatives, church family and friends.
